Fast Stream is the accelerated development programme within the Civil Service for graduate recruits. Those who join the Fast Stream are allocated a series of job placements designed to prepare them for senior managerial positions within the organisation. It is a complex scheme that operates across all central government departments and the Cabinet Office was keen to understand not only the attitudes of fast streamers towards their work but how this varies across Whitehall.
