Ipsos MORI end of year review covering the main political issues of 2006. This was the year when the government struggled on with public service reform, but hit new lows in terms of public confidence in the NHS (despite levels of satisfaction with actual treatments remaining higher than before). It was a year when, for the first time ever, race and immigration became the key issues that Britons saw facing the country. A year when ratings of both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition fell. A year when, compared to the rest of the G6 countries, Britons were the most negative about their government's handling of crime.
Frontiers of Performance in the NHS

In this report we show that there are some very clear key drivers of patient perceptions that individual managers and clinicians can affect. There are others, however, that neither they nor the Department of Health can influence very much at all.
Frontiers of performance in the NHS II

In 2004, Ipsos MORI published our first Frontiers of Performance in the NHS, exploring what was driving patient perception, and identifying key local factors that had very significant effects on patient perception. This report brings this work up to date, and raises a number of key questions.
