Roger Stubbs, Head of Business Research
Roger has over 30 years' research experience, initially as a client when he was Chief Statistician of the NatWest Group, and since the '70s as a provider of B2B research services at Ipsos MORI. A great believer in the value which research services can bring to large financial and professional service firms, he has directed studies for clients such as major UK banks, the World Bank, Lloyd's of London, Swiss Re, The CBI, accounting firms, law firms, management consultancies, stock exchanges, universities and professional service bodies including the ICAEW, ACCA, Accountancy Foundation, Law Society and Bar Council, and numerous major corporates. Many of these studies have been on an international sometimes global basis. He is the Director of Ipsos MORI's annual multi-client survey among institutional investors and analysts and a frequent writer and speaker on research issues.
Roger has an Honours Degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Economics, is a Chartered Statistician, a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, and has been a member of ESOMAR and a Full Member of the MRS for over 25 years.
Matthew Chatterton is a business-to-business research specialist, having spent his career prior to joining Ipsos MORI in the professional services sector, first at KPMG and then at Andersen. He specialises in customer and client loyalty research and the use of research to drive thought leadership programmes. He has also worked extensively in the fields of corporate governance and financial reporting.
David specialises in business-to-business, professional services and technology research and has been working in the market research industry for nine years. He spent four years at RSM, an ad hoc market research agency, specialising in IT and telecoms research and joined Ipsos MORI in January 2001.
Since joining Ipsos MORI, David has managed a wide range of business-to-business projects for financial services, professional services and technology clients, including PwC, KPMG, BT Global Consulting, Hewlett Packard the CBI and Detica. He has also been involved with studies conducted for a broad range of regulators, from Ofcom and the Welsh Advisory Committee for Telecommunications, to the Pensions Regulator (formerly Opra) and the Pension Protection Fund. Much of this work has focussed on corporate reputation and developing client services, and David's knowledge of the professional services and technology sectors has proven invaluable to clients. He is also heavily involved in promoting online research as a key tool in reaching senior level audiences and is looking at the opportunities offered by online business panels.
David graduated from King's College London University, with an honours degree in English and is a full member of B.I.G. (Business Intelligence Group), a forum for UK business-to-business researchers.
Andrew has been working primarily in commercial research in the domestic and international markets for 20 years. His career has spanned a wide variety of client sectors and subject areas, working on both the agency and client sides. For the last ten years he has concentrated on telephone surveys across a broad range of subjects and audiences, and is an expert in the use of this methodology. For the last two years he has worked exclusively on professional and business-to-business surveys.
He has been at Ipsos MORI for over five years, initially running projects in MORI's telephone division, MORI Telephone Surveys (MTS), but then transferred to MORI to act as an international research advisor and to work in Ipsos MORI Business.
Prior to MORI he was an Associate Director at TNSofres / Audience Selection for seven years, a market research manager at BUPA for three years, and was also an exec at Research International and BMRB. He is an Oxford graduate, with a D.Phil. in immunology, and a full member of the Market Research Society.
He has conducted surveys for a wide variety of well known companies including British Airways, Merrill Lynch, 3i, Hill & Knowlton, and the BBC. Recent B2B clients include Barclays, PwC, Norwich Union, CIMA, Visa, Booz Allen, and Nikko Asset Management.
Waheed has been in the market and strategy consulting sector for over 12 years. He has managed and conducted over 100 projects in 50 countries. Projects have included Market Due Diligence, Competitor Assessment, forecasting, product launch, thought leadership, brand positioning and new market entry strategy. Waheed also managed the Business Development groups for a leading healthcare consultancy in Europe and for a division of a Global Investment bank. At Ipsos MORI, Waheed leads much of the work with the investment community, clients include investment banks, asset management including hedge funds as well as with strategy consultants and professional services firms. Waheed is also on the Board of Directors of an investment firm.
He studied for BSc and an MSc in Chemistry and an MBA in Marketing and Strategy.
Greg Smith, Client Development Director
Greg is strongly committed to the multi-disciplinary, flexible, team approach to marketing research that Ipsos MORI takes. A declared 'generalist' with almost 25 years research experience, he believes that the research contribution to decision-making is enhanced significantly by accumulated and shared experience.
He is a firm believer in a partnership approach and welcomes ongoing and open dialogue with clients but also stresses the need for independent analytical rigour, questioning assumptions at every stage.
Working in a broad cross-section of areas throughout his career, recent projects have included new product innovation, communication and service development. He has also built up considerable international research experience and has a particular interest in the impact of new technology, cultural and lifestyle changes on businesses.
A regular speaker at conferences and seminars he has covered subjects as diverse as quality in market research on the one hand or the introduction of pen-based computing technologies on the other.
Mike Everett, Chief Executive Officer
Mike takes a strong personal interest in Ipsos MORI's business research and is involved in a number of client accounts. Before joining Ipsos MORI, Mike was a consultant at Ernst and Young and worked with organisations in both the public and private sector helping them improve and evaluate their performance.
Mike is particularly interested in the challenges faced by managers' in people businesses as they grapple with delivering excellent client service to an ever-more demanding client base while also providing stimulating and rewarding careers for staff.
He strongly believes that the key factor that will differentiate companies from the competition is their ability to actually implement strategies that are agreed. Using research wisely can help immensely in this process. Mike is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Strategic Planning Society.
