Stakeholder Research

Businesses frequently measure the satisfaction and attitudes of their customers, but can fail to address the needs and concerns of other major stakeholder groups. They do so at their peril — these groups act as important opinion formers who can greatly improve an organisations ability to prosper.

MPs and transport journalists in particular hold great sway over public opinion with regards to transport issues. Likewise, your employees are an often overlooked stakeholder group. They are the advocates of your company and possibly the only contact people may have with your organisation. Research can play a crucial role in helping organisations understand the needs and expectations of these and other stakeholders. The common thread which runs through all our work is helping our clients build better relationships, with all the people who work with them.

Recent examples of stakeholder research include:

  • the twice yearly face-to-face survey amongst Members of Parliament
  • the annual syndicated transport journalists study
  • stakeholder audit on behalf of a TOC amongst MPs, journalists and key industry figures
  • a study amongst key players in the rail sector towards their perceptions of trespass and vandalism and the various measures that attempt to control it
  • HR/staff surveys/employee research on behalf of government, operators and maintenance companies.
