International Social Trends Unit

The International Social Trends Unit (ISTU) is a team within the Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute that acts as a centre-point for analysing and disseminating social survey findings from around the world. It uses both internally and externally generated data to shed light on emerging developments in social issues, and provides an insightful commentary on international comparisons. Bringing together Ipsos MORI's broad experience in social research with Ipsos' very strong international network, the ISTU team delivers the following support to projects:

  • Co-ordination of existing internal and external international social and public policy research in key areas, producing briefing material to add value to client work;
  • Thought leadership in international social issues, producing articles, reports and newsletters across a range of policy areas.

ISTU is providing sets of slides on a range of topics which include: international comparisons on the perception gap in public services, immigrants and immigration, personal values, reducing energy consumption and issues of concern in the country.

A New British Model?

A New British Model?
This new report - compiled by Bobby Duffy & Rea Robey from our International Social Trends Unit - compares public ratings for economic and public policy throughout Europe and the US. It paints a picture of a Britain that is full of economic confidence, but with little faith in government to deal with other social issues such as crime, health care and immigration.
