Doctors Still Top The Poll As Most Trusted Profession
Doctors still top the poll as the professionals that the public trust most. An Ipsos MORI survey commissioned by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) shows that doctors come out first when the public is asked whom they generally trust to tell the truth. The annual poll indicates that nine in ten adults say they trust doctors to tell the truth.
The NHS Is Not Meeting Londoners' Expectations

Londoners are less positive about the quality of NHS services than people nationally. However, this lower overall satisfaction for some measures masks the fact that opinion about the NHS is more polarized in London, with a larger proportion of residents either very satisfied or very dissatisfied than residents nationally. This suggests a perceived lack of consistency in the quality of services for different groups of Londoners, which is likely to be exacerbated by the heavier use of NHS services in London, particularly A&E departments, than elsewhere.

The results of the first five surveys indicate that most eligible patients are not receiving any choice of hospital provider, despite government exhortations — although the proportion being offered a choice has improved with each wave of research, from 30% in May / June 2006 to 45% in January 2007.
