Regeneration and Planning
Engaging with stakeholders to improve effectiveness
Effective research and evaluation can play an important part in monitoring and improving the effectiveness of regeneration projects and programmes - at local, regional and national levels. Beyond plugging gaps and updating existing information, it can help place regeneration areas and schemes in a clearer context and assist in setting, monitoring and adapting objectives.
Ipsos MORI's regeneration team has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in regeneration research. We have forged strong links with local practitioners, central government policy makers, leading academics in the field and specialist consultants. In addition, we are able to combine these links with expertise from across the Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute (for example, housing, employment & training, education, crime and health) to provide an individually focused response to your research requirements within the context of fast-changing national policy initiatives and demands.
We conduct the full range of research, from in-depth interviews and qualitative discussion groups with local residents, stakeholder surveys and household or in-street surveys for local regeneration partnerships and local authorities, to major government surveys as part of the team evaluating the New Deal for Communities programme. Our clients include:
- Government departments including the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Home Office and the Department for Education and Skills
- National Assembly for Wales
- Regional Development Agencies
- Local Enterprise Growth Initiatives
- Local Single Regeneration Budget partnerships
- Local Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and New Deal for Communities partnerships
- Local Authorities and Strategic Partnerships
- Local housing estates
- Charities and not-for-profit organisations
- Consultancies, academies and media institutions.
- National Audit Office.
We work closely with the Ipsos MORI Participation Unit, asinvolving local people in decision-making is a central tenet of most regeneration programmes.
If you are interested in conducting research to do with a regeneration project please contact one of the team who will be happy to discuss your requirements.
