Public Perception Survey of Highways Maintenance for Essex County Council. The objective of this survey was to find out how residents feel about road and pavement conditions, maintenance provision, and their satisfaction with how well current highways and transportation services are provided.

Public consultation on second Local Transport Plan (LTP) for Essex County Council. A series of focus groups with a number of hard-to-reach groups including the elderly, disabled, unemployed and ethnic minorities. By being more exploratory, MORI was able to consider in detail how transport issues affect these groups, particularly relating to day-to-day accessibility. The research also helped develop a set of objectives that the council's local transport plan should address.

Essex Panel. MORI currently manages a 1,700 strong panel for the Essex County Council and Essex Police partnership. Specific issues covered in the first two waves of research include: satisfaction with transport and travelling around Essex and priorities for spending on council services.

Castle Point Congestion Survey for Essex County Council. This quantitative survey of 500 residents aimed to assess attitudes towards congestion in the Castle Point District. In particular, the project intended to assess the scale of the perceived problem of congestion in the area, and reactions to potential solutions.

Draft Regional Transport Strategy for South East England Regional Assembly. Telephone survey of South East residents to obtain views on a number of aspects of the Draft Transport Strategy.

Best Value Review of Bus Services Nottinghamshire County Council. Telephone survey of 500 residents and postal survey of Councils in Nottinghamshire to examine priorities for future funding of the bus network.

Shropshire County Council Roads Survey. Telephone survey of 500 residents to measure satisfaction with highways in Shropshire and identify areas for improvement.

Surrey County Council Transportation Customer Care Survey. Face-to-face survey of around 1,100 residents, looking at satisfaction with roads and transport services in the county.

Best Value Review of Transport Services for Adults and Young People with Special Needs for Glasgow City Council — this qualitative research axamined the views of children with special needs and others with disabilities on how community transport meets their needs.

Islington Borough Council Transportation Customer Satisfaction Survey. Face-to-face interviews with around 300 residents examining satisfaction with particular transportation schemes.

Draft Regional Transport Strategy South East England Regional Assembly. Telephone survey of South East residents to obtain views on a number of aspects of the Draft Transport Strategy.

Attitudes to Car Transport Hertfordshire County Council — project involved a series of focus groups with car users in Hertfordshire. The emphasis of this research examined a number of transport related factors such as main reasons for reliance on car transport; barriers to using alternative methods such as walking and cycling in the county; perceived benefits of reducing car use.

Attitudes towards Local Transport East Sussex County Council — a quantitative research study to feed into the Council's Local Transport Plan, covering perceptions of, and attitudes towards, a range of different modes of transport for different journey purposes. The study included identifying improvements to promote the needs of walkers and cyclists.

Attitudes towards Local Transport Kent County Council — Qualitative research on transport and access to help Kent County Council develop their Rural Strategy.
