Initial findings from Ipsos MORI's recent work for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) were published today. The research aimed to find out the public's reactions to a proposed new national pensions scheme.
Live Now, Save Later: Young People, Saving And Pensions
A qualitative examination of the attitudes and behaviours of young people (aged 16-29) towards saving, retirement planning and pensions. The research also sought to inform ways of encouraging and enabling young people to begin saving, particularly for retirement. Although the benefits of starting to save early for retirement are well-established, these are not felt to be well understood by young people, or conflict with other priorities for allocating income.

It was established in 2002 by the Department for Education and Skills, the Department of Trade and Industry and the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Evaluation of Employer Training Pilots, for DfES
The Employer Training Pilots (ETPs) were established in September 2002 to test the effectiveness of an offer of free or subsided training to employees without a level 2 qualification, wage compensation (of various levels) to their employers for giving time off to train, plus access to information, advice and guidance.
Improving the Collection of Qualifications Data, for DfES
