Thought Leadership

We add value for our clients through our thought leadership work; maximising the use of the data we collect to provide additional insight and context. We believe that our wider understanding of the sector is unparalleled. Our latest thinking includes: the citizen’s view of municipal government and their local area across the world; an audit of Our Nation’s Civic Health; and, our top tips for engaging the public about spending priorities.

Our team members are regular contributors to various public sector publications (e.g. LARIA newsletters) and media including MJ and LGC, and welcome the opportunity to share Ipsos MORI's knowledge at national and regional conferences, in addition to hosting our own seminars and events.

We have recently provided support to a policy think-tank at their staff away day to look at future social and economic trends and how these may affect local government going forward.  This involved thinking about how councils may respond to local opportunities and challenges arising from trends such as new technologies, environmental pressures and demographic changes that place different demands on services.  This builds on work we conducted with the strategic futures company Outsights for the LGA and BIS’s (formerly DIUS) Horizon Scanning Centre on the Future of Local Services to the Public.
