Practice Based Commissioning

Since 2007 Ipsos MORI has managed a census survey amongst GP practices measuring the implementation of Practice Based Commissioning (PBC) and the support that practices receive from their Primary Care Trusts. The survey results have been used by the Department of Health and the ten Strategic Health Authorities to monitor the success of PBC, and find out where it is being implemented most successfully. The survey's value as a tool for improving has been aided by the high response rate achieved (over 65% average).
