Case Study: NHS West Midlands (2008-ongoing)
We have been commissioned by NHS West Midlands to undertake a large programme of research. This includes an annual telephone survey of residents across the region looking at perceptions of services, priorities for improvement, and various other aspects of healthcare. We have also built up a panel of residents, who we can contact for ad hoc projects, while keeping them informed with a website and regular newsletter.
In addition, we have conducted a range of other ad hoc projects as they arise, including qualitative research using a range of techniques (discussion groups, in-depth interviews and workshops), along with a supporting telephone survey, to feed into the SHA’s work on Lord Darzi’s review; research around providing information about GP practices; an exploration of how patients, public and staff view quality in the NHS; public perceptions of cleanliness; and research around dentistry and how best to provide information about it
