Latest research: Swine Flu

Ipsos MORI undertook a survey on the subject of Swine Flu on behalf of King's College London and the Health Protection Agency. This survey was conducted from 8-12 May 2009, and covered a range of questions on perceptions and behaviours of the British public with regard to Swine Flu. The findings from this research have been analysed and published by G James Rubin, Richard Amlôt, Lisa Page and Simon Wessely, and are available on the British Medical Journal (BMJ) website here.

The authors conclude that "The results support efforts to inform the public about specific actions that can reduce the risks from swine flu and to communicate about the government’s plans and resources. Tackling the perception that the outbreak has been "over-hyped" may be difficult but worthwhile."
