Regeneration and Planning Research at Ipsos MORI

Providing evidence and insight to improve effectiveness in regeneration and planning

Ipsos MORI's Regeneration and Planning research unit has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in regeneration research.

We understand the critical role that effective research and evaluation plays in monitoring and improving the effectiveness of regeneration projects and programmes - locally, across regions and at the national level. Beyond plugging gaps and updating existing information, it helps place regeneration areas and schemes in a clearer context and assists in setting, monitoring and adapting planning and development objectives.

We have forged strong links with local practitioners, central government policy makers, leading academics in the field and specialist consultants. In addition, we are able to combine these links with expertise from across the Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute (for example, housing, employment & training, education, crime and health) to provide an individually focused response to your research requirements within the context of fast-changing national policy initiatives and demands.

Among the key issues that we think about are:

  • Ensuring local people are involved in decision-making, and lead and shape research and consultation
  • Stakeholder focus in regeneration research and planning
  • Environmental impact analysis, government planning, land development practice, historic preservation, infrastructure assessment, and development impact analysis.

We conduct the full range of research, from in-depth interviews and qualitative discussion groups with local residents, stakeholder surveys and household or in-street surveys for local regeneration partnerships and local authorities, to major government surveys as part of the team evaluating the New Deal for Communities programme.

What our clients say about us:

Constant communication and attention to detail; excellent customer focus; very competitive on price; simply beat the prospective competition hands down.

The team members were very easy to work with. They consulted widely and also had a fund of relevant knowledge that helped the project flow well. This is an unusual and innovative piece of work and their contribution was just what we could have wished for.

Strength of in-depth knowledge of social housing enabled us to take advantage of other survey results and compare like with like. Great stuff!
